Empowering adult learners with real goals, real support, and a real pathway forward.
Education and Transformation
Dr. Yaz, an experienced educator and coach with over 20 years in K-20 education and justice-involved systems, created the Dr. Yaz Method® as a response to the disconnect between traditional education and real-life transformation. After leading schools and working inside correctional facilities, Dr. Yaz launched Uhuru Pathways to help free learners from systems of limitation and provide a space where they could truly thrive—academically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Whether someone is returning to school, navigating a career shift, starting over after life happened, or simply trying to grow — my mission is to help them move forward with dignity, confidence, and community.
The Dr. Yaz Method® and Uhuru Pathways work together to provide a holistic approach to adult education and personal transformation:
Coaching for the person. Courses for the journey. Community for the soul.
This work is about more than checking boxes. It’s about building lives, opening possibilities, and reminding people — at any age — that it’s never too late to rewrite their story.

What Sets Us Apart
The Dr. Yaz Method® was created to give adults a place where growth is possible, support is real, and transformation doesn’t require perfection. My work centers on helping people reclaim their confidence, rebuild their habits, and step into the next chapter of their lives with clarity and purpose.
As a coach, educator, and leader with more than twenty years in K–20 systems, I’ve seen firsthand how adults often carry the weight of unfinished goals, unspoken fears, and untapped potential. The Dr. Yaz Method® was built to meet those realities head-on. Through coaching, courses, and a culturally rooted, judgment-free approach, I guide individuals through developing the intentions, skills, and habits that lead to long-term success — not just in education, but in life.
